Vessels for Honor Rafting

Whitewater Rafting on Colorado's Arkansas River

Journey Quest’s Vessels for Honor Rafting (VFH) invites you, your family, and friends to be our guests this summer! We offer white water rafting expeditions along the Arkansas River in Colorado; most of our rafting adventures launch from our site at Texas Creek Junction near Canon City and travel through Bighorn Sheep Canyon or the Royal Gorge, offering some of the most spectacular scenery on the upper Arkansas River. Our guided tours range from 1/4 day to 2 and 1/2 days, and can be tailored to suit your individual taste for adventure. Trips run Monday through Saturday during the summer rafting season, from May 1st through Labor Day.

VFH is the white-water rafting arm of Journey Quest. We are ideally suited to accommodate groups of up to 60 people who are interested in wholesome family fun, action, and adventure. Our name, Vessels for Honor, comes from the Biblical passage found in 2 Timothy 2:21; It reflects our passion for Jesus Christ and a commitment to integrity and excellence in all that we do.

“…be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the master, prepared for every good work” (NASB)

Vessels for Honor Rafting Company is licensed in the State of Colorado. We have professionally-trained guides, carry liability insurance as required by the state and, and are a Member of the Arkansas River Outfitters Association.

Rock ‘n Summit

Rock-Climbing & Mountaineering Camp

This 12-day rock-climbing and mountaineering camp is a great way to experience God's creation, grow in your faith, and build solid and safe climbing skills. Each day starts and ends with God's Word as we learn to enjoy Him and explore His beautiful creation. The trip begins with 4 or 5 days of rock climbing where we will learn efficient climbing movement and solid technical skills. From here we will backpack into a pristine alpine lake and attempt to summit two semi-technical mountains by both snow and rock routes. A full-day float down the Arkansas River finishes out the trip. » Continue Reading «

1/2 Day Extender

Arkansas River » Bighorn Sheep Canyon

This Bighorn Sheep Canyon trip is our most popular rafting adventure! It launches from our site at Texas Creek and continues for an amazing 14 miles of Arkansas River whitewater. Because of the distance, most outfitters only offer this as a full day trip. However, we decided to offer it in a half-day format. We put on the river first thing in the morning and we usually get back to Texas Creek by 12:30 p.m. This trip is wonderful for people wanting to spend more time on the river and still be back by lunch. (Formerly called the 3/4 Day BSC). » Continue Reading «
